Alexandra MacDonald, a historian of 18th century Anglo-American material culture and a Ph.D. candidate at the College of William & Mary, has published a generous review of SCOS in History: The Journal of the Historical Association.
MacDonald writes in part:
Given the breadth of topics found in the Session Papers, undergraduate students and scholars of gender, race, family, religion, legal history, business history and print culture working in Scottish, Vast Early America and British Atlantic World frameworks will all find something of value within this project. By making these records widely available, and providing carefully considered, historically informed metadata and digital curation methods, this project makes an important intervention into digital scholarship and is sure to raise new historical questions about people and organisations we are perhaps more familiar with and, vitally, about those whose voices have been overlooked in our historical narratives.
