Advocate, 12 Feb. 1780. Son of Alexander Tait, W.S. and Janet Blair; Advocate-Depute 1787-90; Sheriff of Stirling May 29, 1790; M.P. Stirling, 1797. Was to succeed his father in collecting the decisions of the Court of Sessions, but failed in this task.
