Younger son of Hector Scott of Scottshall and Barbara Scott; 1751 m. Catherine Sinclair, coheir of Scalloway; acquired the right to Scalloway from his wife and her niece in 1771; succ. by his son, John Scott of Scalloway (1756-1833).
