Biographical Notes
Son of Colin Dunlop of Carmyle and Martha Bogle; m. Marion Buchanan. Purchased Garnkirk in 1782. In 1793 Colin Dunlop & Sons failed and he sold his estates, retaining the superiority of Carmyle, over which he became a coal master, and purchased Tollcross.
