Dr. James P. Ambuske

Digital Historian, The George Washington Library at Mount Vernon. Ambuske leads the digital history initiatives at George Washington's Mount Vernon. He received his Ph.D. in history from UVA in 2016 with a focus on Scotland and America in an Age of War and Revolution. He is a former Farmer Postdoctoral Fellow in Digital Humanities at the University of Virginia Law Library. Ambuske was a contributor to the edited collection, The Eighteenth Centuries: Global Networks of Enlightenment, and has published reviews in The Southern Historian and Reviews in American History. Ambuske is currently at work on a book entitled Emigration and Empire: America and Scotland in the Revolutionary Era, as well as a chapter on Scottish loyalism during the American Revolution for a volume to be published by the University of Edinburgh Press. He is presently pursuing individual projects centered on transatlantic legal history and the reign of George III.

Dr. Randi Flaherty

Special Collections Librarian. Flaherty supports research in the Library’s archival, rare book, and digital collections, and she manages projects that preserve and exhibit the law school's institutional history. She received her Ph.D. in history from the University of Virginia in 2014 with a focus on the politics and global geography of trade in the early American republic. She has served as a fellow in digital humanities at the UVA Law Library and at the UVA Scholars’ Lab, and in 2016-17 served as a Kundrun Postdoctoral Fellow at Monticello’s Robert H. Smith International Center for Jefferson Studies.  She is completing a book, "Maritime Frontier: Early American Merchants and the Commercial Republic, 1760-1830."

Dr. Loren Moulds

Digital Collections Librarian and Head, Digital Preservation & Scholarship Services. Moulds leads the library's efforts to develop online research tools and to promote, create, and preserve its digital collections as well as acting as the Library's Systems Liaison to the main library system. Loren received his bachelor's in English and American studies from Kalamazoo College in 2004 and earned a Ph.D. in History at the University of Virginia in 2014, studying Federal Housing Policy, Gender, and American Political Development. He has served as the director of the Project for Technology in History Education at the University of Virginia's Corcoran Department of History, the technology coordinator for UVA's Digital Classroom Initiative, and project programmer for the Virginia Center for Digital History.

Cecilia Brown

Archivist, Special Collections. Brown has been in charge of processing and preserving manuscript collections since 1993. She studied history at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and co-authored El Territorio Mexicano.

Kate Boudouris

Research, Instruction and Outreach Librarian. Boudouris has an undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and a law degree from Yale Law School. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in information science from the University of Tennessee. Boudouris has practiced administrative law in Virginia and the District of Columbia, most recently as an attorney at the Southern Environmental Law Center in Charlottesville.
