Advocate, 5 July 1763. Third son of Robert Balfour of Balbirnie, M.P. and Anne Ramsay of Whitehill; succ. to Whitehill upon the death of his brother; never married; Solicitor of Teinds 1790; Judge of Commissary Court 1774-1800; Vice Dean of Faculty.
