A forthcoming digital map will highlight geographic locations identified by SCOS project researchers in the UVA Law Library’s Session Papers. Each place name is tied to geo-location metadata sourced from The Gazetteer of Scotland or Google Maps and linked to a person or institution involved in a case heard by the Court of Session.
Selecting a pin on the digital map and clicking on the linked geographic term will open a new page featuring cases associated with that specific location and any parent or child terms related to the location in question.
The number of locations identified will only grow over time. Presently, the map only accounts for SCOS cases fully researched and described with comprehensive metadata. It does not yet account for the Library of Congress’s volumes. Please check back regularly for updates.
